A. Review of Permitted and Special Exception Uses in the Commercial Zoning District

    Most of the special exceptions should be eliminated. The town is not only built out, but is beginning to be over-developed, especially with high intensity uses such as restaurants and clubs. These regulations are seriously out of date and no longer reflective of the goals of the Comprehensive Plan. The uses should only be available by variance, thus relieving the Council of the frequent burden of proving that they are not beneficial.
