RESOLUTION NO. 006-2025: A Resolution Of The Town Council Of The Town Of Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, Amending Resolution No. 6-71, The Breakers Planned Unit Development (PUD-A), As Previously Amended, To Authorize The Demolition Of The Existing Two-Story Family Entertainment Center And The Italian Restaurant And Their Replacement With A New, Three Story Structure With Basement Connected By An Overhead Enclosed Pedestrian Bridge To The Existing Two-Story Beach Club Building, With Related Site Improvements; And To Allow The Construction Of A New Parking Structure Consisting Of One Level Of Subterranean Parking And One At-Grade Surface-Level Parking Area To Replace An Existing Surface Parking Lot.
The comments of Mrs Fisher and Mr Leidy regarding traffic are completely accurate. The Town must put more pressure on the coast guard, at the very highest level, to relieve our traffic problem. Without dealing with the existing bridge opening schedule, any other tweaks to the traffic is like rearranging the deck chairs on
the Titanic as it is sinking.
It is ridiculous that 1000’s of people are stuck for up to an hour, so a few boats can go under the bridge (s).
Re the Breakers construction, much of the demolition
truck movements should be done at night.
They can use 40 yard containers and stage them for night removal.
Same thing for delivery of new construction materials, receive them at night…
Mrs Fisher, Mr Leidy, thank
You for raising your concerns.
With cooperation solutions are available.
Best, Rick

To the Town of Palm Beach,
It is a total failure of government to keep this hideous infringement of or safely (no emergency access, choking traffic and access to West Palm Beach) a secret. Is there money changing hands that you would make a decision so harmful to the residents of the northern end of the island? As it stands now because off all the "rules" you have put in place it has become impossible to get OFF the island in the afternoons as you have created worse bottlenecks by mandating exit times for workers. That made it infinitely worse and in your ineptitude have made no provisions to keep the bridges down during heavy traffic times.
You have already made life on the north end difficult and to add to that you are going to deface the island with a mammoth building project that will make an intolerable mess. I have yet to see the plans but I am trying to be more timely than than you have been and get a HUGE objection sent to you as soon as I was informed.
You must reconsider, this is not a project that is needed on this island. Let the Breakers build on the west side not on this island, it is sinking as it is. This could be the ruin of your very large tax base. I am not paying a fortune every year for a long lived hideous and mess and a challenge to our emergency services.
Very sincerely, Mrs Arnold L Fisher

Dear Palm Beach Town Council-
I am a concerned town resident writing to oppose the Breakers PUD amendment. The town is already overrun with construction vehicles and construction projects that take years to complete. The impact of this project will be increased traffic and gridlock caused by heavy equipment and earth moving vehicles causing additional chaos. Turning an unsafe condition into an even more difficult situation for emergency vehicles to maneuver and disruption to the quality of life of our beautiful Island. I request that the town council take a hard look at this project and the potential impact on the town traffic and infrastructure and residential quality of life.
Kind Regards,
Carter Leidy
