Honorable Mayor and members of the Town Council:
My name is Daniel Ponton and I reside at 1 Golfview Road. My house lies on the northwest corner of South County Road and Hammond Avenue. I have resided at this address for approximately 7 years and on Golfview Road over 20.
As a resident, two of my goals are the peaceful enjoyment of my home and yard/ pool area. It is a quality of life we have all come to enjoy and greatly appreciate living in Palm Beach.
The 400 block of South County is flanked by Worth and Hammond Avenue. It has become a dangerous and unruly stretch of road. A peril to both vehicular and pedestrian travel.
Deliveries, especially from large “Thermo King” refrigerated trucks, park on either side of South County Road and are extremely noisy and irreverent of its effect on local traffic. Deliveries are to both Worth Avenue and County Road. They start at 6:30 a.m. Garbage trucks follow at about 8:15 and the balance of the day is a constant parade of commercial vehicles parking behind my home. It is daily mayhem. Amazon delivery trucks were using the parking space in the front of my home to deliver to Worth Avenue.
The purpose of this letter is to make a request. When considering the intensification of this block by allowing an additional food service operation to take over a retail clothing store, please note the potential impact of the change in use. The following items and questions are of concern: 1. Where and when will the daily deliveries take place. 2. Will the trash dumpsters remain in the current location at the westerly side of the “Ferragamo” parking lot? 3. How will the table seating component work? 4. Is this the beginnings of an additional restaurant? 5. What are the hours of operation?
My entire 42 year career has been in Town of Palm Beach in the food service trade. It has very different components than those of a non-food retail establishment. Many of the “back of house” requirements, if left unchecked, will negatively impact the area resident’s quality of life.
The last few seasons I have quietly endured the destruction of any peaceful use of my outdoor space. Not one day have I been able to enjoy it.
The 400 block of South County has become a dangerous and noisy nuisance. Let us first improve what is currently happening on this stretch of road before we intensify its use.
Thank you for allowing me to bring these issues to your attention.
Most sincerely,
Daniel Ponton

Dear Members of the Town Council,
I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed Rosetta Bakery at 450 S. County Road, on the corner of Worth Avenue. As a resident of Palm Beach and a personal acquaintance of the proprietor, Tommaso Bulfon, I believe granting the special exception for the sale of specialty food to this establishment would greatly benefit our community.
Rosetta Bakery, being primarily takeout-oriented, is unlikely to generate the same level of traffic and noise as a full-service restaurant. The bakery's offerings will cater to the needs of town residents, providing a convenient option for grab-and-go meals and coffee.
Tommaso is a dedicated and responsible individual who takes pride in his work and always puts the needs of his customers and neighbors first. Any concerns that may arise can be quickly addressed through open communication with him.
The bakery will provide on-site parking for its employees, demonstrating its commitment to minimizing the impact on the surrounding neighborhood. This will help alleviate the strain on public parking spaces.
Rosetta Bakery will be one of only two takeout-oriented cafes in the Worth Avenue area, offering residents in the town's estate section a new option for convenient, high-quality baked goods. Notability, the quality of the bakery is unmatched by anything currently offered on Palm Beach Island.
The bakery's commitment to off-site baking at their Miami commissary kitchen ensures that the Palm Beach location will focus solely on preparing products for purchase, minimizing disturbances to the neighborhood.
I wholeheartedly support granting the special exception to Rosetta Bakery.
Sincerely,
Gregory Zaffiro
