    > Renee and I have resided at 141 Seaview Avenue since 2016, however we have lived on the island since 1989.
    > At that time the oldest of our three sons was 5 while the other
    > trailed at 3 and 2 years old. We originally settled on buying a Palm
    > Beach condo for family vacations back then because Palm Beach provided a safe haven for our young boys. That same concern rings true today for our young grandchildren.

    > In 2016 we moved to Seaview again to provide a safe haven for the next
    > generation, our grandchildren aged 9 and under. Moving from our condo
    > at 360 South Ocean to Seaview was a daunting task for our broker and
    > friend, Christian Angle. We were specific and intransigent, ocean block of Seaview or nothing. The reason was simple: a quiet, one way, narrow, short, safe and tranquil street with easy beach access for our young family. One of our most pressing and non negotiable terms is making sure no access or egress from the proposed East Plaza development onto Seaview is granted by the Planning and zoning or Town Council. Any access would dramatically change our street’s safety level.
    > Seaview and South County are already a very congested corner due to
    > the school traffic mornings and afternoons. Increased traffic flows or patterns would greatly increase the risk of increased chances of accidents or mishaps. Incidentally traffic would be better served exiting and entering on the two larger streets bordering the development, South Ocean Blvd and Royal Palm Way.

    > In addition the idea of an underground garage elevating the proposed
    > buildings to a height of more than 50 feet is also a non starter. Not only would the developer disturb the existing coral reef on site but may also cause irreparable damage to the surrounding foundations of the Seaview homes, to the water table and to the environment in general, all of which would be unknowns and remain as such until it is far too late.
    > Not to mention that any underground garage would eliminate green space and proper landscaping which would instead be relegated to ‘potted plants’ not in keeping with the surrounding streets, neighbourhood or town.
    > Palm Beach is known for its remarkable well landscaped and manicured gardens. Any development should observe the same zoning and planning criteria that all the towns’ residents must stringently adhere to.

    > Finally the size of the proposed homes requested on these lots far
    > exceeds the present zoning parameters that we all must adhere to. Homes of six to eight thousand square feet on these size lots is an exaggerated, excessive, and egregious overreach to which we are opposed.

    > We are not against development of these lands but want a measured, thoughtful, and well balance approach in keeping with the surrounding homes, streets and gardens adjacent to this proposal.

    > Both Renee and I attended the Town Council meeting on East Plaza and
    > the Planning and Zoning meeting recently on East plaza’s request for a PUD. On a side note we were thoroughly impressed with the council, planning and zoning members’ knowledge, questions and concerns. We are all just trying to preserve the high standards that previous generations have instilled on this unique town.
