Hello Mayor and Town Council,
I think including Storm Shutters in the Ordinance for Construction Screening is a bit of overreach.
Particularly in Section 5 where it amends the Storm Shutter Regulations by removing the limitation to commercial buildings, thereby extending the ordinance to residential buildings.
As proposed, it will not allow residents to close/secure shutters and leave them closed/secured during the hurricane season.
There are many residents, myself included, and likely hundreds of condominium residents who close/secure shutters while they are away.
And just try to get someone to install shutters when a hurricane watch is issued! Everyone is very busy.
Please remove this proposed change to the existing ordinance. Thank you.
