    Received via email 2.26.24:
    Dear ARCOM commissioners,
Please make a very thorough analysis of the house proposed for 243 Seaspray Avenue. This project dwarfs the houses that are directly opposite. It even looks massive next door to the two-story houses that flank it.
The arcade has 20 columns and is not really attractive in the drawing that is presented here. It looks so formal and stiff. Couldn’t the number of columns be reduced making it seem not such a formal and out of place element on Seaspray? The landscape plan reminds me of Mr. Smith remarks about not putting everything you know about Mediterranean landscaping, along with some things like the Colonnades, which are not particularly Mediterranean in style on this site. The little pointy finals on the chimneys and on the peak of the roof are just so many distracting little bits . Lightening rods or just gratuitous decorations? Some of the nicest houses on Seaspray that are Mediterranean in style are Spanish influenced, and have very quiet facades like 315 Seaspray, which is a landmark. Carefully review the pictures of the surrounding neighborhood in relation to this house. The only very elaborate doorway is on the house at 218 Seaspray. Until it’s recent renovation, that doorway was painted white and blended in with the house so it was a lot less pronounced.
I hope you will take the time to really look over this neighborhood and the very good pictures presented of the houses that are far more simple. The inspiration etchings for the grounds and architecture presented have no relationship to the Sea streets and are stunningly grand and formal . It belongs on a large estate not a 113’ lot on Seaspray Avenue. The whole design is too dissimilar for our neighborhood.
Thank you for taking the time that you do to make the adjustments in style, in mass, in detailing and in scale that preserve our historic neighborhoods, which are one of the most distinguishing features of Palm Beach
    Sincerely,
    Anne and Charlie Pepper

this project is too large, too formal and out of scale for the surrounding neighborhood. It appears they have built to the maximum cubic content allowed. the size, scale, mass and details should be simplified and reduced
