    Received via email 2.26.24:
It has come to my attention that Anthony Beyer, my neighbor at 200 Tradewind Drive has objected to the lack of inclusion of a backup generator within the subject application. Further, he has requested that the applicant stipulate that said generator be located in the southeast corner of 216 Tradewind Drive, a location as close as possible to my property at 215 Jamaica Lane.
The applicant, Carl Sabatello, has extensively consulted with Mrs. Parker and me, and with our neighbors at 221 Jamaica Lane, Mr. and Mrs. Cruz. I have appeared before you in support of this application and have stated and still believe that the applicant has gone beyond any requirements to cooperate with us as we have shared our preferences.
I do not believe that any neighbor has the authority to insist upon the addition of any feature to another owner’s application, much less to dictate its location on an applicant’s property. As I understand our building code, the installation of a generator at a single-family residence is not required. If Mr. Sabatello decides to include one in his application, I am confident that our Planning, Zoning and Building Department will regulate its installation according to its rules, which I expect will be applied in such a manner to fairly and equally protect the interests of all the neighbors of the applicant.
I believe that the Town’s Underground Utilities project will significantly reduce the benefit of a standby generator. Should any of my neighbors ask me to install a generator on our property and tell me where to locate it, I will politely decline.
Please ignore Mr. Beyer’s request. Mr. and Mrs. Cruz have asked me to reference their endorsement of this letter.
    Sincerely yours,
    Tom Parker

    Good afternoon,
Please for the record I have never objected to the lack of inclusion of a generator for the subject house proposed at 216 Tradewind. The inclusion of a generator is of course at the total election of the builder/homeowner. During a call with Carl Sabatello we did discuss whether he was including a generator, as it was not designated on the plans, and he explained he was not. I then suggested to him that perhaps he should consider still designating an area for a future generator at the southeast corner, adjacent to ours,
as it would not create increased noise in the event both generators were running simultaneously. And again, the decision to designate an area for a future generator is completely at the discretion of the owner/ builder.
I have no objection, nor have I ever formally or informally, to the applicant at 216 Tradewind /Mr. Carl Sabatello; to include a generator or designate an area for a future generator. Hopefully, this clarifies my neighbor Tom Parker’s incorrect understanding with respect to this matter, as well clearly states my position to ARCOM.
    Thank you for your consideration.
    Sincerely,
    Anthony M. Beyer
