Gentlepeople, what part of preservation or sensitive confuses? A more delicate-handed redesign of the playhouse would have gone a long way to soothe the community of outraged citizenry. Yours truly , flory cardinale

While this inquiry is important, it is unfortunate that the total demolition of land marked 284 Monterey Road, which appeared on the last Landmark Preservation agenda, isn't also being considered. That total demo probably benefited the contractor's interests; however, it appears not to be questioned or investigated, but rather carefully noted by interested parties for imitation in the future. And please remember that the same contractor at this same project, had previously blocked the West end of Monterey Road without permission at this same site on 284 Monterey.
We wonder how this happened and why no one is held accountable. Could it be that those responsible knew from past experience that there would be no meaningful consequences and that any fine, etc., wouldn't be a deterrent but only a reasonable cost of doing business.
