All,
I am writing in support of the application submitted by Doug and Julie Ostrover for their proposed home at 304 Maddock Way. I understand their application will come before ARCOM at their meeting later this month.
My wife Nicola and I live at 920 N. Lake Way and while we are not direct neighbors to the Ostrovers we want to say how much we appreciate the home they are proposing to build. Like the owners the design is understated and elegant and it faithfully reflects the vernacular of Palm Beach. While the property is unusually large the Ostrovers have thoughtfully positioned the structures to avoid crowding or imposing on the street or the Lake Trail. And rather than trying to maximize the size and scope of the house the design tastefully complements the other homes on the street and preserves the majestic trees that have been there for many years.
We would urge the commissioners to favorably consider the Ostrover’s project as we believe it will add to the beauty of our island. And aren’t we fortunate that the Ostrovers have chosen to create such a remarkable home for their family on this large parcel. In today’s market they easily could have sold off a portion of the land and we would be looking at a much different scenario.
I would appreciate it if this email could be read at the meeting and entered into the public record.
Thank you,
Jeff Marcus

Hello Town of Palm Beach
My family and I live at 315 Tangier Avenue, and we share a property line with the Ostrover family at 304 Maddock Way. I have met Mr. and Mrs. Ostrover who were so thoughtful and kind to share and review their construction plans with me. Their architect, Mr Peter Papadopolous explained all the
renderings and dimensions along with their plan to build around the monumental tree on the property. I feel their plans are appropriate and tasteful and I am excited to have them as wonderful neighbors. Please accept this letter as my support of their project. Should you have any questions, my mobile number is below.
Thank you.

Dear sirs and Mesdames,
My husband , Leigh Mcmakin and I are thrilled with the proposed design of the Ostrover’s house to be constructed on 304 maddock Way.
The land it is to be built on I know intimately as it is not only next door to us ,The Old Church ,but where I grew up in a house called “Treetops“. We feel that their choice of this beautiful Mediterranean design is in keeping with other nearby houses fronting the Lake Trail , also rather then overtaking the size of their lot with one large structure, they have gently extended their living areas so as not to dwarf the four other houses on Maddock Way.We were also impressed that their architects Peter Papadopoulos‘ and Joeb Moore ‘s designs were cleverly able to embrace a large land marked tree in the middle of the Ostrover’s land while others found this too difficult to accomplish.
We have also reviewed the proposed landscaping plans which have been thoughtfully designed to not only give the Ostrover’s privacy , but to create a lovely garden like view for us , their neighbors.
We have the upmost respect for their architects Mr Peter Papadopoulos , Mr Joeb Moore ,their chosen builder , Livingston Builders , and their landscaper designer Mario Navarro. The choice of this talented team is a dream for us . We wholeheartedly look forward to welcoming the Ostrovers and to their beautiful house being built next door to us.
With warm regards,
Mimi and Leigh Mcmakin
